RESISTANT: Corian® is a solid material, not porous, homogeneous, composed of ± 1/3 of acrylic resin (polymethylmethacrylate or PMMA) and ± 2/3 of natural minerals. The main minerali s triidated aluminum (ATH) derived from bauxite, a mineral from which aluminum is produced. Since its introduction in 1967, Corian® has proven to be an extremely resistant and easy to live material. It does not flake and adapts well to daily use. Corian® has been tested for its mechanical, thermal, electrical and other surface properties;
HYGIENIC: Corian® is a antibacterial material, not porous. It is compact in all its thickness and it can be manufactured with imperceptible joints which make the surface very hygienic. Surfaces in Corian® don’t favor the growth of bacteria and mushrooms. Corian® has been certified by an indipendent laboratory as a hygienic material according to the international legislation DIN EN ISO 846;
NON TOXIC: Corian® is inert and non-toxic material. In normal temperature conditions, it does not emit gas. When it burns, mainly releases carbon oxides and smoke is light and does not contain toxic halogenated gases. Thanks to this property, Corian® is used in public areas and for sensitive applications such as aitport check-in counters, walls and surfaces in hospitals and hotels;
REPAIRABLE: surfaces in Corian® are renewable, in the sense that they can be completely restored with normal mild abrasive cleaners and an abrasive sponge. Cigarette burns, for example, can be easily removed in this way. Damage caused by improper use of Corian® can usually be repaired on site without having to completely replace the material;
SOLID: Colors and texture are present in all thinkness of the material and are therefore not subject to wear. Corian® is a solid material and it does not flake;
IMPERCEPTIBLE JUNCTIONS: the only limit to the use of Corian® is imagination. The possibility of creating invisible gluing ans continuous surfaces with imperceptible junctions translates into pratically infinite design possibilities.
